I don't think those med school numbers are accurate. The med school at the state university I went to has an acceptance rate of about 3%. Edit: Those numbers definitely aren't accurate. Here is a list I found of the med schools with the highest acceptance rates. The absolute highest is 40%, but most are around 10% or lower. Occupational therapy school isn’t any different. However, even though OT school is hard, it is not impossible.
